3rd gen exhaust vs. 2nd gen

What is the difference between the 3rd gen exhaust and the 2nd gen. Will a 3rd gen exhaust system fit in a 2nd gen model? If not, why? Thanks

i believe the third gen creates less back pressure ala' free flow exhaust. and im sure you could put it on a 2nd gen but not without modification. go for it
i LOVE how the 07 sound when its depressurizing.

you can get the 3rd gen exhaust to fit on a 2nd gen with modifications. the difference between the 2 are the bends and lengths.

oh ok. Thanks guys. My friend has a 3rd gen megan prototype cat back exhaust and he is giving it to me for free. I drove his car with it on and it sounds decent suprisingly coming from a megan manufacturer. It has a deep tone with no raspy sounds at any rpm. It also feels like it has more torque going up hill and I know this because I had a third gen loaner a couple of weeks ago. So what would i need to modify to fit this?

Bends and length. Get yours off and hold that one up and see. Its not something we can really describe.
