He's only 19!
He's probably got a co-signer on the loan or else it was bought for him. He's got nothing to worry about if he tears it up... there's another one where this one came from...
All jealousy aside, you would be smart to take it EASY for the first 1,000 miles. But then again, at your rate, you may have no license and no insurance by that point anyway...
Sorry to sound so cynical... I admit, I'M JEALOUS OF A 19 YEAR OLD WITH A TL-S WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO RESPECT IT...
Go ahead and flip me off... I'm sure that'll be your response... GOOD LUCK with your ride, just take the time to respect her... you've got one hell of a good thing going for your age... Just don't blow it... Read the thread from the guy "who kinda ****ed things up".

still a Masshole
I took it easy until the 600 mile mark. I accelerated a bit quickly but I tried to keep the revs below 4700 so I never nailed the pedal. I have redlined a few times since!

I took it easy the first 1000 miles to be safe. Even after that I wasn't hard on it right away. I mean, I plan to have the car for 100k + miles, so what's the big deal going easy for the first couple of months? With only 250 miles on it... you shouldn't go too hard. Yes I accelerated hard around then too... but no joke, maybe once or twice in the first 1500 miles... that's it. Took it easy the rest of the time.....
