3a Racing tips

I notice that alot of people have the 3a racing tips as a mod. I am newbie so I have a couple of questions. Where do you get them? I saw them at the 3a website and I like them, but which model do most people have? Also do they give any gains or are they just for aesthetics? And are they hard to install? Thanks for the help.

You can get the 3A tips Pepboys, advance auto parts, autozone, etc.

Mine are the 4x7(?) or is it 4x9(?). dunno, forgot.
the tips give you MEGA HP BOOST!!! I think its about 50HP+!!!
I'm just joking with you man. its for looks only.
Installation is not that hard but depending on how long you had the car for, it might be a little hard to get the factory ones off. But its fairly easy to do.

btw, Welcome to the site!!

install is about 5minutes and u can pick the pair up from pep boys. mine are i believe 3.5''x9''

all you really need to make this the easiest mod possible is a socket wrench with 10mm attachment. u dont need it but thats the easiest way to deal with it

Went to Pep Boys today and got the 3A Racing Tips. They were $24.99 each & they bolt right on. The hardest part was waiting for the undercoating/rustproofing I sprayed on the screws to dry.
They look awesome and I'm sure I gained at least 100 HP!
(Yes, I AM joking)
I had originally purchased ones from Ichibahn which were even hotter looking, but they didn't fit right and I was going to have to cut a few inches off of each tailpipe. :chainsaw:
F- that. I'm not cutting up a month-old car!

Anyway, it is a fairly cheap mod that definitely makes the TL look a little more bad-ass from the rear.

Oh yeah, and the best part is that the factory TL tips bolted right on my 5.0! I have a 93 GT and normally you can't see the duals because of the ground effects. They were a tight fit, but they look good.
Now I have to go buy a tip for my GF's Civic, since she was planning on taking one from the TL.

The only problem with the 3A tips is that they are 9 inches in length, and they will always stick out.

Do the 3A's just extend out a few more inches but are identical to the stock tips?

All the photos I've seen just look like a few inches added on - makes it look a little more aggressive, which is good in my book.

Think I'm going to get the angled cut tips and change my look a little. BTW, $19.99 each at my local Pep Boys right now.

$19.99? Damn, living in New Jersey is killing me!
I paid $24.99 EACH @ Pep Boys!

Yes they do stick out slightly. They are angled and rolled, and definitely more aggressive looking. IMO you can't go wrong with these. They are subtle but make a point that your car has some balls at the same time.
I'm still pissed that they are charging an extra $5 bucks each for these here.

The 4x9 stick out about an inch. The bodykit helps to cover that. The 3x9 sticks out maybe 1/2 inch passed the lower portion of the bumper. But it does look good.

make sure to either switch the bolts and get SS or coat them every so often with anti rust solvent. I had those tips on for over a year and when i went to remove them, it was a MAJOR PAIN IN THE ASS. I decided to get the real deal, comptechs baby!
