33,000 miles, 2nd Transmission is dieing

That's it!!! As soon as the 6spd G35 sedan comes out. I am trading it. I will see what happens at the dealer but as far as I am concerned. This car is finished. I always been a nissan/infiniti lover. I love the Acura but quality problems is too much for a near luxury vehicle. I have never had these problems in the 4 maxima's and 1 infiniti that I have owned over the years.
And I drove one maxima to over 213,000 miles (95SE/5-spd)
. ( Please no flames, but enough is enough.) The car spends more time in the dealer than me driving it.
Let me break it down:

1. Warped Rotors (Twice, Replace with new shoes) Warranty
2. Squeeking sun roof, door handle, rear deck, shocks and springs, middle console. driver seat.
3. Jammed CD's (non-burned)
4. Loose interior pieces, door handle...etc
5. Peeling paint around rear passenger window.
6. Cracked A Pillar (WTF!!!) Even that shocked me.

And no I do not drive like a fool, never been in a accident. Most mileage is Highway. I drive approx. 80 miles a day to and from work. I take meticulous care of my vehicle. And this is the reward I get. I have a 1997 Toyota Corolla with over 55,000 miles with not a single damn problem, absolutely nothing ever went wrong with it. So you see how fustrated I am right now.
Sorry guys I am at wits end. And need to vent.

I have that peeling paint problem as well, except mine is near the drivers side window. Actually I have all the problems you listed except the A-Pillar crack.

Good luck.

Um...it sounds like you know something that we don't know. I guess I'm hoping that my second tranny will die before my warrantee runs out.

Sorry to hear about that Nate. I feel your pain. Your list is eerily similar to my list of problems with the exception of the cracked a-pillar. That's a scary one!!

Good luck.

Logically, this could only be the case if ALL "pre-fix" replacement trannys have the flaw. And if that is the case, what does that say about those of us who are still on our original tranny? Are we just a ticking timebomb?

Jon, we need to know. I'll get an extended warranty, or trade the car at 45k, if this is the case!

I cannot say with absolution, but I would not be suprised if I and others have another tranny failure, and if TL-S owners who have not had tranny failures, continue to have these failures.

It's a sketchy proposition, however you can take it with a grain of salt.

Just don't be suprised to see more and more of these.

I should be taking it in tomorrow. While there I will be talking to the manager about either buying it back or I will go to CarMax and see if I can trade it. I don't believe a car should have disposable transmissions. You know that each transmission cost Acura over $5,000.00 plus shipping. I do love my car. I think it's awesome but come on, my second transmission at 33,000 is going to the big junk yard in the sky. By my calculations I am averaging 16.000 miles per transmission. Hmmm? I wonder if professional racers swap out there transmissions that much. LOL. Anyway...I hope I can hold on till the 6sp G comes out or even a 6sp Maxima is looking very very good indeed. Yes it's slower but quality is there. Keeping my head up....
