Recently I've noticed that when I go from 3rd to 4th Redlining there is a squeel for just an instant. What is this, and am I killing my car?? Thanks

 

im pretty sure its normal, my TLS does the exact same thing

 

its most likely the belt when power is momentarily cut for the shift then reapplied suddenly the belt slips slightly. im surprised that you get it on the 3-4 shift. if any it should be on the 1-2 or 2-3 where more power is applied (due to gearing) and the tranny shifts faster

 

In any event, is that an issue I will have to deal with?

 

My car has made that same noise since i've had it. i dont know if its something that will need to be corrected because i've always thought it was that i drove the car too hard, but im not too sure. its kind of annoying tho!

 

On the 1-2 shift its normal if you are WOT. My tires used to squeal once in a while when shifting from 2-3 but that stopped after I got some new tires put on. The 3-4 shift shouldnt suqeal unless your tires are really bald or your tranny is having some sort of shifting issue.

 

NO, not the tires, the trans... the tires might squeel if your in SS with Traction Off but if you are just red lining the car and you hear a SQWEEEEEK!!!!! thats the tranny.
