Angry 2nd Gen TL is not feminine or dowdy (NY Times)!!!!

Okay, read this thread,...

http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showt...threadid=74439

...and this story...

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/03/21/automobiles/21AUTO.html?pagewanted=all&position=

Okay, I'm sick and tired of people trashing the 2nd gen TL, esp. the TL-S.

"...Acura officials say, women favored the sweeping, softer lines of the previous model."

"WHEN I first encountered the redesigned 2004 Acura TL, it was like being reintroduced to an old friend. No, not to the 2000-model Acura 3.2 TL that resides in my garage - a car that suddenly looked and felt dowdy by comparison - but to a red-blooded German sport sedan like the Audi A4."

Are our cars feminine or dowdy?? I have an 03 TL-S and have received more complements (from men and women, young and old!) on this car than any other. Hell most people have no idea there is a new 04. And they still like mine.

Okay, I'm done, and I still love my 03, so there!!

90% of the reason I bought this car was the look of it, which is WAY better looking then the the new TL. Which I think looks like every new sedan out there, therefore a4s, maximas, 5-series, cts, even the tsx(why build two cars that look the same). I do like the features and the performance of the new model but the looks are ass. At least the 2nd gen is a very unique, classy car.

Most people who get burned by a TLS like to make such statements. Perhaps he was a victim

serriously, who cares if people say a car is manly or not...give me a break. Unless you drive a lifted 1 ton truck with 38's on it, then you can make an argument that you car isnt manly. Whoever says that is has been insecure since childhood.

Car design is one of the most subjectives issues. So I don't care if someone else doesn't like my car. They can lick my sweaty nutsack.

Personally, I love the lines on my car. She's slim, yet has the right curves in the right places. If I could have sex with her, I would. '04 TL is decent, but not my bag of tea.

???????

What are you saying.

I'm not taking about a TLS which looks almost identical to my car, if you took the time to read you would see that I refered to a 2004TL.

I think the TL-S is still one of the best looking cars on the road...

the guy who stated this is a coward, and not too intelligent either. The bottom line is the ABP TL-S, has gotten me so many compliments, mostly due to the colour of it...I love my A-Spec...especially in Aegean Blue.

don't put too much into what she says. she was just excited after seeing the 04tl. i think she wrote that the old tl "SUDDENLY felt doudy." i'm sure it was a case of seeing a new toy and thinking it was a lot better than what she currently had. after all, dowdy means old fashioned.

also, just because more women like the look of the old tl, doesn't mean it's feminine. think about how many g/fs have liked your cologne more than their perfume. or what about girls that like ferraris (sp). does that make them feminine?? i don't think so

last thing, i don't think she was talking about the tl-s so don't take it too bad lycos

ps. tl-s' rule!!

why the hell is 3 gen TL trash talking the 2 gen owners?
JeffS:
it now looks outdated and is now a reminder of Acura's less sporty days. It can't compare to the stunning new TL, but I still find the back end attractive though.
TLGator:
The second-gen TL was really pretty boring looking
boltjames:
Candidly, I wish Acura would issue a recall on the 2nd gen as every time I see one on the road (normally driven by a guy, LOL) it just brings the status of my new TL down. If Acura can't get them all off the road, at least they should send some Honda Accord badges to the owners.....that would fix the problem.
