2003 Transmission

I have an 03 TL in which has its original transmission. I want to know what can I do if I end up having to replace it. Buy a new one or go to the dealer something? I only ask cuz I see a lot of people getting to their 2nd or 3rd transmission and I want to know what I have do. I bought this car used at 45k im now at 60k and Ive seen a few transmission for $1000 used or $2000 new. All I put in the car was a AEM V2 intake and I have in my garage the Headers but I put those later on.

not all 03s are covered by the extended warranty- though you can get `goodwill` coverage from acura if out of range,
First register by VIN on acura.com, and call them during the week and register as new owner 1-800-382-2238x5- ask them about trans warranty.
http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx
read the section on recalls after you join (its free)
there should be a thing that says RECLL 2004 oil kit -DONE or Fixed
and another that says Warranty Extension Campaign 1999-2003
yadayada
that 2nd one is the trans extended warranty ordered by the court meaning you are covered

I cant image where you are finding trans prices for this car- replacement from dealer- rebuilt- you cannot buy brand new- only rebuilts- about 4 grand installed- 3500 for the trans itself
getting yours rebuilt 2500

If you have any of the symptoms of failure- as described here in the tranny failure thread or on the acura site is a list of knowm symptoms- get it to the dealer for inspection!!!
This is assuming clean title- NOT salvage or rebuilt title on the car
If so- no trans warranty

the dealer does not care about your aftermarket intake or headers.
The trans is a known failure and is not a hassle getting warranty for in most cases.
