Please help! Purchased my 03 TL 2 weeks ago and it's been in the shop since! I replaced the timing/water pump and adjusted the valves. Still getting misfire error on cylinder 1 & 5. My mechanic (friend of mine) tried everything. Installed all new coil packs and same problem so returned the coil packs. Tune up was done (all new plugs). Car runs fine on the road. Just at idle very rough and check engine, vsa, "!" lights remain on. Can't pass emissions with this problem obviously. Can anyone help out there? He even spoke to Acura to reach out and they are clueless as well. Will reflashing the ECU solve this problem? Thank you!

 

Has any one done a compression test? that would be the first thing i look at next. What is the fuel pressure? has that been tested. You really cant reflash these ecus. If one is bad it needs to be replaced.

Edit one more thing to look at is the Fuel Injectors.

 

what spark plugs did you install,,, ngk irids ngk plats???
or some 2 buck chuck =wrong plugs in the TL~
pull a few now and inspect wear--that tells whats going on inside the engine

 

if the coils were tried without resetting the ECU- you got bad info still
must reset! --use clock fuse
