2003 TL-S Headers on 98 V6 Accord?
i currently own both a 2003 TL-S and a 1998 Accord V6
i was thinking of purchasing the comptech headers for my TL-S
at the same time, i was wondering if my stock 2003 TL-S headers would fit on my 1998 Accord V6 without modification, and if this would have any increase in performance gains.
please advise.
Many thanks.
first of all, unless you have a 6 speed CL-S, no need for comptech headers, save yourself hundreds of dollars and get OBX headers....you can get a set of OBX headers for BOTH OF YOUR CARS for LESS than the cost of ONE set of comptech headers....not to mention, OBX headers give equal power gains....there is no question here, go with OBX...comptech headers are AT THE VERY LEAST $999 shipped OBX headers are going for about $350 shipped....so for 700 bucks you can have headers on both of the vehicles...or for 1,000 you can have headers on one car....hmm..no question there.
as far as the stock TL-S exhaust manifolds and a-pipe fitting, sure, they should fit, but as far as i know, they are IDENTICAL to whats on your accord...the stock exhaust manifolds on TL/CL/Accords are the same, and they are crap.

I heard a read a lot of posts here saying the OBX's had quality issues with fit and finish and that is why I also went with Comptech (well, that and the Acura dealer installed them and fully warranetd everything)...
OBX headers are a good deal, but they don't compare to the quality of the comptech headers. If you are tight on money, get the OBX, but if you have the means to get the comptechs I would definately go that route.
I think you guys are getting off track here. He asked if 2003 tls headers would fit on a 98 accord v6. Frankly im curious as to if that would work or not becasue im looking to do the same thing with my brother who has a 98 accord v6 also.

guys, the OBX are fine, yeah, the welds are sloppier...who cares?? you dont see them when you are driving!! ive got them, they are great, there is absolutely nothing about comptech that makes them worth an extra 700 bucks!!! thats just outrageous, now if comptechs were 500, sure, get em, they are better quality afterall, but for 700 bucks difference in price, its foolish to waste money like that....also dealers have no right to treat people differently who have OBX instead of comptech, they are identical in design....my dealer was actually HAPPY to see that another company was supporting the aftermarket on our cars (ive got a 2002 CL-S by the way)
about the other point, the exhaust manifolds on our cars are crap...anyone with headers has seen them and they are bulky, restrictive, crap....they will definately fit on an accord and id be willing to bet that they are identical anyways....just get 2 sets of OBX headers and each car will have a great performance gain and youll still have money left over than if you bought one set of comptech.

the parts are exactly the same.....if u go to comptechusa.com its like part number 22-042 for both accord v6 and tl-s
yea i think j.t. tl-s is right. u have all pretty nice stuff on your car so stay with the comptechs.
