2003 Acura TL Type S
If I recall correctly your car doesn’t have the plugs for the navigation unit or screen. So you would either have to swap out the wiring with a navigation wiring or cut and splice the kit into your harness. I would go into the back and verify if you have additional plugs just sitting there if so you may be plug and play.
FWIW: In a nutshell, YES. Is it worth it, NO. The OEM Navi, IMO, is not very useful, as the most recent map update, is 2012! The OEM system, is also, slow, and cumbersome. A quick search, as I recall, should reveal, such a swap, as having been done, and exactly what is involved, by a fellow member.
I recently bought a 2001 w/Navi. After searching on how best to upgrade, I decided to pass. I have a Garmin and tend to use Waze a lot. Instead, I bought a CD mount for my GPS and installed it in the fixed center vent between the 2 bottom slats. Fits perfect and holds either my phone or my Garmin. So now I get real time traffic, up to date maps, lane assist and all the bells and whistles.
I may even pull my navi and replace the entire dash with the non Navi controls. It would be one less invitation to vandals and car thieves.
