Today, I was flipping through a Magazine from 2003 and stumbled onto a Acura TL Type-S ad. I had been wondering about ads/commercials for the TL-S here lately, so it was pretty neat to find it. It pictures a SSM TL-S flying down a two lane road and the theme is driving fast to get things you like. Something along those lines. It has a picture of different pens from different places in the top right corner. Anyways, this is what it says:

..i have saved pages of an article they did on the CLS6 from Super Street years and years ago when they first introduced the 6S. lols..

 

I had never seen an ad for our cars. I knew they were out there, but this one came up on me when I least expected it. lol Anyone got any from youtube? I know current Acura commercials are on there...

that tl looks like its made out of aluminum with no paint on it. lol

 

holy 4x4 in the youtube video - but look at the magazine ad, i swear they dropped it. there is no way the front of the car is that low stock - look at the wheel gap. Stop the youtube video at 36 seconds and compare it to the magazine ad.

 

is it just me or does it look like the rear wheel has negative camber in the zoomed picture?

 

hell yeah - they dropped it for the ad.

 

it also has cleared headlights

 

The rims even look bigger than stock in the magazine ad.

..you either need a better PC screen or your eyes checked. Those lights aren't cleared..

 

they probably put comptech springs on it for the magazine ad.

 

It doesnt have a bright orange reflector wrapping around the edge. it looks clear except for a little orange triangle towards the rear

 

photo chopped, you can still see it, its not as noticeable. they have sneaky ways in making the car look better than it really does.

 

At my Acura dealership they have a pic/poster of the 03 TL-S in SSM with a desert in the backround, yet all over the rest of the dealership they constantly update the posters with all the new Acura's. I asked them why they kept that one up from 03 and they said we all agreed it's one of the best looking Acura's ever made and it's not coming down. They also had a pic of the Integra Type R and the NSX. Very nice

 

Yes, the 260hp car was virtually invincible on the road 6 or 7 years back. That was also the exact reason why I bought the TL-S then.

 

Man, I'm invincible... at least I thought I was til a cop stopped me. lol

 

i agree with the dealer on that (for once). if you had a slide show of all the acuras ever made, i think the four best looking acuras are the 2nd gen TL-s, NSX, 3rd gen TL-s and 1st gen TSX .

 

id say same size... when our tl-s rims are spinnin they look like there at least 18"s

 

Does it have a flux-capacitor and need 1.21 jigawatts to get to 88.5?

..umm if you've even seen a cleared 2G headlight, it looks NOTHING like that.

 

I go to Smithtown Acura.

 

sometimes i wish i had waited another year before i got my 03 tl-s, but then threads like this make me feel like i made the right decision
