2002 TL Type S Exhaust Upgrade

Before (2002 Acura TL Type S bone stock)

After my first modification to it. Replaced exhaust system with DC Sports headers, Excelerate Performance High-Flow Cat, and Apexi WSII exhaust. Bought it all through Excellerate. Great experience overall with them and easy bolt on installation.

Looks good! But what's next on her?

IMO, the worst part of these TLs are the gap in the wheel wells (needs to be lowered) and those UGLY wheels. Wheels and lowering were one of the first things I did to mine.

I had the APEXii exhaust in my shopping cart and ready to checkout but I decided to research a little more and glad I didn't buy it. Only the mufflers are stainless steel pipes are coated mild steel. I see you're in FL so that's not really a concern for you but here that exhaust would be reduced to almost nothing in a few years w all the road salt and harsh winter conditions. I'm still holding onto hope that the ATLP system will be made soon.

Lowering....yes!!... Wheels??
The stock TL-S wheels have potential getting a nice drop really sets them off nice cant go wrong with the fat five wheels...

I use to have cl s wheels on my tl. I actually hate the lip on the tl s wheels. Also cl s wheels are 7" wide vs tl s wheels are 6.5"

Are you sure they are cl-s? These are the wheels I have. Pretty sure they are TL-S. The car was a one owner when I got it. An old man owned it and never changed anything on it. Tyranny went out at 35k and he got it rebuilt with the recall. Has 92k on it now and has no problems whatsoever. Hopefully it stays that way because warranty just went out.

Yes you Can Karanx...

The Main Diff is in the Spoke itself.. If you see from the HUB into the Edge of the Spoke theres a small Bump just before the spoke end in the CL-S Wheels where the TL-S wheels doesnt have it, Its almost flat to the End..
Also the Spoke Itself is alittle Wider on the TL-S where CL-S starts to get slimmer towards the end of it.

CL-S

TL-S

Not the Best Comparison Pics but you get the Idea....

IMO: TL-S > CL-S

Thanks man. Yeah mine don't have the bump, so they are TL. Cheers.
