The rear end of the Civic Hatchback Type R sure looks like the Honda Oddessy.

The Integra looks ugly like the new Civic Sedan. The best looking Integra is the current one, but the one with the Japanese specs which has the nicer looking headlights.

What is Honda doing?

well...the japanese actually stated out the integra with the same headlight as us, but they didtn sell that well so they changed it to the more triditional looking headlights, but it seem to sell very weel in US,

hmm.. I'm not sure what to make of it. For sure, I don't like the rear. It looks way too funky. But overall, it looks fine, although it won't be a car of my choice.

Looks like a Celica knockoff! If it really has 220HP, gentlemen get ready to get beat by the Integra...

I expected a sedan/coupe version of the Honda S2000 to replace the current Integra....that would have convinced me that Acura is moving up in the automotive landscape.... I am thoroughly disappointed with Acura for having retained the Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) layout for the latest Integra and to add insult to injury, the Integra has replaced its mercurial double-wishbone front suspension with the cheaper and inferior Macpherson Struts like the current (2001) civic..I can't understand Honda's desire to retain FWD in its Acura cars....no Lexus (except for the ES300), BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc have FWD in their cars...you cannot play with the big boys and expect to compete with FWD in that league....this Integra squarely places Acura as a fringe player among Luxury marques....

No amount of additional power will convince me to buy this new Integra....

The S2000 is an existing superb rear-wheel-drive platform with Honda and I just can't figure out the reason why it is not being used more extensively..... the limited production S2000 in my opinion belongs in an Acura showroom not the Honda showroom....and the Integra belongs in the Honda showroom....my 2c

Oh and hey Hunter.. I used to think the samt hinkg about S2000.. that it should be an Acura. There were some guys talking on Speedvision about why this car HAD to be a Honda.. something to do with Mr. Honda; that the S2000 is the evolution of race cars that he designed but never produced. Many felt it would dishonor his memory by not calling it a Honda.

Now I need to hunt around on the net to see if I can find the specifics. Sounded interesting.

PS is German for horsepower.

Pfherd = Horse
Stärk = strength/power

I think those units are identical to the U.S. horsepower rating. BHP I think is British Horse Power, those ratings are different.

I agree that Honda could not bring in the S2000 in their 50th Anniversary especially since there is nothing called "Acura" in the rest of the world except in Canada....and the S2000 HAD TO BE a HONDA on account of it being HONDA's 50th Anniversary.

But then again, since the platform was available, why are they not using it more extensively ?!!! Could they not modify it into a Sedan/Coupe form and position it to compete with the Beemer 3-Series/IS-300 with a slightly larger displacement V6/I-6 engine on the same platform ? The only deficiency of the S2000 is, IMHO, its buzzy, small 4-banger - I don't care if it generates 10000 hp at 500000 rpm....who cares?!!! Why does Honda insist on "thinking small" relentlessly and bringing in a "classic Honda showroom piece" into an "Acura showroom" (Integra)? In my opinion, Acura should ditch the Integra and bring in an S2000 based Sedan/Coupe in its place with a V6/I-6...

I can imagine the costs involved if a RWD platform had to be developed from scratch...but Honda already has a superb small RWD platform on their hands (S2000) and using it very sparingly....pisses me off royally....my 2c

No sir, I don't like it. I have said this about other Hondas/Acuras when I have seen them on paper, however when I see them in person they tend to look a lot better. Thats just my opinion though. I think the lights are a bit too big for the car, almost looks like the current prelude lights on steroids. the back is ehhh ok, its kinda just there, almost like the back of the current Corvette.

That picture is an artist rendition. The artist used the Celica as his template.

I like the Civic and also the Integra too....but they don't "belong" in an Acura showroom - they need to be in a Honda showroom....like the Celica/corolla does not "belong" in a Lexus showroom... even though they (celica/integra/civic) are superb Hondas/Toyotas...get the drift of what I am saying ?!!!
