2002 Acura TL transmission cooler revisited
Hi all,
I have a 2002 Acura TL bought new back then. It now has 130K miles or so. The original tranny grenade at 100K and was replaced with a new (remanufactured ?) by the Acura dealer. Before the original blew up, I put in the tranny cooler at around 50K. Not sure if it helped to last until 100K or not.
Anyways, I'm planning to replace the tranny filter and drain & fill the tranny fluid. Should I yank out the tranny cooler or should I leave it? If it's not doing anything, I'm thinking may as well remove it. Thoughts?

Tranny cooler........
How is the Acura replacement tranny doing ? Regular PM consisting of fluid D&F and filter should help keep the tranny's internal components clean and perform better over the long haul.
As far as the ATF cooler, it's basically your call. Can't see where it would hurt anything if it were functioning, but if it's just been hanging there and doing nothing......well, ya know...... just do what ya want with it.

Its on there might as well keep it on. At minimum i would attempt to flush it out though.
