I own a 2001 TL.
My stupid transmission died. I was driving on the freeway, and boom, it felt like i had no power!.. I called the dealership, they came and picked it up. A few days later, I get my car back, and they tell me now the transmission can handel 500hp, its the new type-s tranny they said, now its a crazy transmission made by GOD!... Is this gonna die on me again? Did i do something wrong, did it die because i drove too crazy? Because i like using my autostick? Or because Acura couldn't get it right the first time so they had to waste $2100 in parts of labor to get it right?.. Is there cause for concern? Simply: WILL IT BREAK AGAIN?!

 

hmmm... from what I've heard, the new tranny's they're putting in are OK. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Although I am one of the lucky ones with the 99!!!

 

You didn't do anything wrong, Honda just didn't know how to make 5 speed properly at first.

i'm having the same problem with my tranny i own a 2002 feels like crap...bout to go to the dealership but kinda scared they gonna turn meh down for the warranty since i dropped it and i just installed the headers...i wonder if they gonna say anything

 

You mean to tell me that the 99's don't have any tranny problems? I've seen many posts telling otherwise. I'm worried about mine now!!!!

 

500hp? i seriously doubt that. that salesperson was probably just trying to allay your fears. some salespeople will state things just because they don't know the truth. you gotta take everything with a grain of salt.
