Hello all,

I have a question and hopefully someone here can give me some advice. I bought a used 2001 acura TL in September. The car was running great no issues. About a week ago I tried to start it can it would not start up with out me giving it gas. Once I gave it gas and got it started I am able to drive it and then if I turn it off and turn it bak on it comes on immediately. Now, whenever it sits for a few hours or get cold I have to give it gas to start it, and I have noticed that my thermostat is all the way on Hot but the car is not over heating (at least I don't think it is). Someone please help!!! I am taking it to a mechanic on Friday but I wanted some type of insight before hand. Thanks in advance

First check your radiator fluid level and radiator cap first. Most likely it is the thermostat.

Hey Michie8901, have the cooling system pressure checked for leaks. Make sure that the coolant is up in the rad and burped of air.
Do bth fans come on ? Ya could possibly have a leak, a bad sensor, or T-stat ? Check that first, then maybe the main PGM- FI relay ?
