2000-TL trade in 4 a Type-s??

I own a 2000tl I was wondering I checked the blue book value for a trade in and it stated 23,000 It is in immaculate condition as it looked when I picked it up. it has 22,000 miles well maintained. How much do you think the dealer will actually offer me? Is it better to sell it private? what's a good asking price? it has the ground effects, the 2000tl type-s taillights tinted windows and no NAV. Thanks

Honestly I think you will be better off selling it on Autotrader.com. I am pretty sure you will get 22,500 to 23,000 from a private sale. You will get screwed if you trade it in . The dealership will probably give you 20 thous maybe a little more. Sell it outright you will get more

I traded my 00 TL for a 02 TL-S in July. I had approx. 18,000 miles on my TL when I traded. Got a great deal from a dealer here in Atlanta. They gave me $24,000 for my trade and sold me the TL-S for $29,500.

Since you only pay sales tax (7% here) on the difference between your trade and new purchase, I would have to sold my 00 TL for $25,680 to beat the deal that the dealer was giving me.
The dealer also gave me a great interest rate, beat the best deal that I found on the internet at www.bankrate.com. My payments only changed by $10 for my TL-S and I did not put any extra cash down.

I like the TL-S much better than my 00 TL.

I was thinking about the same thing... I bought my TL on June last year and still has little over 13K miles. I would pay about $10~$15 on my monthly payment but don't have $$ to put down. Do you think it's possible??
