2000 TL - P vs. 2004 Maxima SE

Had a little friendly run in with the new FUGLY Maxi. Last night in Ontario... ( industrial area no traffic 3am 4 lane road w/ center divider )

Im sitting at a red light listening to my music... Then all of a sudden i notice a newer Maxima 2004 the ugly one . Im thinking how i dont like the new design in my head, and at the same time he puts his car in reverse and does a burnout like hes at a drag strip. I roll up my windows PISSED He knows i only have 225hp and hes pickin on me ! So I pop my tranny into D1 and press the brake and gas @ the same time... Off the line I takehim instanly by a car lenght while hes squaling his tires. He slowly crept up next to me head to head by the time we were goin 80 mph. By the time we hit 90mph we were still dead even, but there was headlights up ahead so we had to shut down...

After wards he asked me if I was squeezing nitrous LMAO!!!!!
I said nope, just an intake

if he was peeling out, then i can understand it being that close.... b/c i used to drive a maxima, and they have soo much torque, if u just gas it hard from a stop even a slow roll, they will sit there and peel out for a little while, so by the time it gains traction, from light to light to too short for a big come back.....

You beat him because his tires couldn't catch trust me. I know they would dust a TL-P. Be glad you off easy on that one.

I used to have a 96 Maxima SE 5 speed that could burn completely through first gear and a good part of second.

Haha fine dont believe me There was actually a guy flaggin and hundreds of people watching lol u know...

But yeah youre right, the new maxima will beat my TL i never said it wouldnt... He was gonna pass me but all we were racing was a quarter mile and I didnt want to run a stop sign... Btw I raced an
Altima V6 (manual) as well. It was pretty much same outcome except he was half a car ahead of me because he had an intake and 2 3/4 inch piping...

On the freeway tho... I got dusted hard my the same altima! He was pretty much 2 car lengths ahead of me and pulling @100mph from a 60 roll,
