Keep your car and do a 6 speed, S motor swap if anything. Sounds like your salvage title isn't too effective from what you are saying. Selling your car and buying a new one will cost you quite a bit.
Seeing that you have a salvage title, you will get significantly less money and buying a new car (assuming it will be an upgrade) will cost more (especially with taxes, etc.). Now I wasn't trying to say a 6 speed, S motor upgrade was going to be cheaper than trading/selling and buying another car but was saying keep it and if anything, do those two swaps instead of buying the salvage type S

Yeah probably bad. My TL-S was a salvage title. When i bought it the car looked great. The paint was even and didn't differ in hue. The panels were all OEM and the frame was straight. What I didnt notice was a pretty annoying air leak coming from the door on the side it was hit on. Fast forward a little while later and I got into my own minor car accident. They had to replace the fender on that side. Turns out when they took the old one off, a chunk of the chassis was missing. Straight up cut out of the car. Then there was all the funky stuff that kept happening. Ghost CEL's, random crap working one day and not the other. My oil level light came on, and never went back off, took it the shop twice. Had both oil pres. sensor's replaced. They told me it was one of two things damaged ECU or a wire snapping or shorting somewhere deep in the bay of the. Aka not worth fixing.
My new rule for buying used cars. NO HIT CARS! A good body shop will cover it up well. But there's too high of a chance that it will bite you in the ass later. Most modern cars have the vin stamped into each body panel. Our tls have stickers. Make sure theyre there!
And if the car was hit hard enough for the cover to fall off, then its bad news. I saw stay away!
so what do you think about getting that car, its an 02 tls 92 k miles it was damaged a little into the driver door and the wheel was sorta hit, the most important one that i am scared of is the transmition case is off...?
