1999 tl-p stuck in gear. Help appreciated
Hey guys, I'm new on this site. My 99 tran get stuck in gear.
Example: I'm driving around normally and when I need to reverse or even park, it won't budge. It takes several seconds to a min before it finally slip into gear.
Any idea what is causing this?? Any advice are welcome. Thanks

Tranny is done for. Take to Honda, Acura, or trusted mechanic. Keep us posted. You must stay alert on this stuff. Doing transmission services etc. This wont be cheap. 1500 bucks to 2500.

@Para- It doesn't feel like the "tranny is done for" (being stubborn). Tranny shift fine and it rides well. But i'll have it inspected anyway. Thanks
@skirmich- Trans fluid clean and right way it needs ie. red w/ no burnt smell.
And lmao @ "you're low on vtec fluid"

fluid type- all honda atf? or other? changed when?
fluid level is correct??? ck this way:
from cold- drive 15 minutes on freeway cruising
get off and immedialty park in safe level spot
shut engine OFF- trans in Park
remove trans dipstick- wipe clean- insert fully- remove
should read BETWEEN the 2 upper dots- not at either one, but between- at that fluid temp
reluctance to engage r or other gears is indicative of clutch disc failure- clogs the internal screens of TC and doesnt allow correct pressure to operate the system
try a few trans places for free inspection- acura will charge 100 to tell you its 4-5 grand to replace!!
trans rebuild= local at 1500-2500 dollars
Might only be pressure switches or shift selenoids- which are DIY external/replacable
