1999 TL overheating, passenger side fan not working

My 1999 TL started overheating today and when I opened the hood I saw that the passenger side fan was not working. I want to buy the part myself but I am not sure what to get. My questions are both fans the same model type? I tried to do a search on this and I am even more confused because most of the threads that I read, most people are saying the passenger side fan is for the AC and the driver side is for the radiator, but when I turned the AC on and off the driver side fan would turn on and off, so Im not sure which is which. If the fans are different, what would be their names? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Thien425 !

Just to confirm what most people say, the passenger side fan is for the A/C condenser.

If your car's motor is overheating, the driver's side cooling fan should come on even if the AC is off. Have the cooling system pressure checked for leaks. Make sure that the coolant level is up within the rad and that the system is burped of air. There may be a pinhole leak somewhere or possibly a bad ECT thermosensor switch for the cooling fan. Check these things out before replacing parts.

Since I replaced the heater hose, there could be some air in the system. How is the best way to burp the system, or get any air bubbles out??

when i replaced my radiator i just let the car run w/o a radiator cap for about 30 min and just let the thermostat open a few times when it opened i had to add coolant, and when it opened the last time it didnt need any more.

my240sx4u is correct. I just burped my system a couple of weeks ago. Just leave the cap off and let the car run for 20-30 minutes. 3 cycles of the thermostat opening up should do it. Just be ready to add the coolant.

Yeah, that method will work. Allow the motor to come up to operating temp with the heater on high and the rad cap off. Once the cooling fans activate, increase the RPM's for awhile until the burbling air quits coming from the rad's opening vent top. Let cool and add more coolant to rad to top it off along with the overflow reservoir.

or follow the owner book method,,slightly more detailed with rpm holding 2000 till fan cycles,,a few other things
free owner book download at www.owners.acura.com

any air will fool the sensor and not turn on fan when needed
