1999 TL indiglo gauge
It took me two days to custom fit and install it on my 99 TL, but I think the results are well worth the effort. I get 6 different colors and dimming function. The only down side is that my major scale is mph, and not km/h But for the coolness, it doesn't bother me one bit. It goes quite well with my blue LED interior too. Here are some pics. Enjoy! Pardon for the shaky hands And I know about the AC lcd hotspot and slightly off temp gauge

O.G.
Holy $hit, is that 4 degrees F or C? Either way that's cold as hell.:wow: I guess that's why some of the pics were blurry cause you were shaking too much.
BTW, next time I go up to canada, you are installing that for me. Oh, looks good!

great job!
Tatewaki,
Always modding your car ... great job! I don't have your patience or your skills ... still a little freaked out over taking off the front bumper and installing cleared corners, let alone dashboard removal!

'02 EBP TL Type-S
mods: OEM kit & spoiler, PIAA fogs, 20% tints, 3A racing tips, painted calipers & y-pipe, INSPIRE sills
future mods: springs, sways, cleared corners, JDM conversion (?)

Keep in mind he's inside the car and the temp is 22 centigrade (approx. 71.6 Farenheit).
Nice job on the mod.

My temp is two notches higher than normal. I screwed that one up. You *could* change to type s needles, but you'll have a tough time to calibrate them. Not impossible, just hard.

ahhhhh I see what you did now. You just cut out that whole section of the indiglo and made a rectangle hole where the gear markers were. Is that correct? I have been wanting to have indiglos for my 99 TL for a while but heard from others that the gears were blocked.
Did you use an exacto knife to cut out the rectangle? Please clue us in on the method you used to alter them. Also why did it take 2 days?

2 days of work include all the mod on the gauges plus all blue LEDs. Just the gauge will be about 3/4 of a day. I also spent about 1/2 day fixing needle clearance problem
I did two things to make the gauge work. I cut out the rectangle window for 5-spd tranny to fit the 4-spd on 99 TLs. Just use an exacto knife to cut it out like the picture. Be sure to coat the edge with epoxy to prevent mositure from getting in. The SS indicator is the same. The second mod is to enlage the holes intended for the needle rest. Somehow these are too small for 99. Take a philips screw driver and make it bigger. Since there is no cutting, you don't need to coat it.
The invertor is about 2" x 1.5" x 1". There is a flexible cable connected to a two-switch control. One for dimmer, one for color. Just put it anywhere you want. Connect the positive lead to connector #3 on the fuse box.
