170miles in a day, car ran stronger every mile I went
Thursday I drove a total of 170 miles during the course of the day. Each miles that passed my car felt stronger and stronger. After at least 120 miles were put on my car pulled very hard. I was surprised it still felt that strong and the tranny was shifting so smooth I couldn't feel it shift at times. It is kinda strange though almost like my car takes a while to get broken-in each day I drive it. first 5 miles it drive good, but when I've been going for 10miles+ it drives a lot better. Any of you guys have the same experience with your cars?

I know it's warming the car up, but it's not about that, when I had already driven 120 miles+ my car was just pulling harder. It was the stronger after 25miles into each trip, I would say 10-15miles should have your car warmed up completely, but my car was warmed up completely and then 15miles or so after it was completely warmed up it just drove and accelerated better than ever. I am just interested in knowing if other TL'rs experience the same performance increase after driving for an extended period. Usually you would think the excess heat in your engine would retard performance some, but I have a Thermoblok spacer kit and believe that's a big reason why I experience this.

Yeah, I hear ya. I've driven my car about 1000 miles in one day numerous times. It's about 15 hrs of driving and my car didn't miss a beat during the whole trip. And she was ready to go the next day with no issues at all. Yeah, the tranny can be a problem in our cars...but that aside, I love the reliability.

Being able to run 170 or 1700 miles in a day should be no problem for a Honda-engineered, near $30k luxury sedan. It doesn't deserve any special recognition for it - it's a car, it was made to be driven.

No question there and I wasn't surprised it could go 170miles in a day, I expect that, it is a certainty. My observation was the level of performance was enhanced after prolonged driving.
