15,000 Mile Services.....

My TL just hit the 45,000 mile mark...The maintaince light came on so I went to Acura and see how much it would be if I had them to do work on it...F***, it's going to cost around $350 for just a few fluids being flush/change, tire rotation and a check on the alignment. Just pissed off that's all, I can't believe it.

Very simply, don't pay it- it's mostly profit anyway. Most dealers who have the 'service package' basically change the oil and charge a large premium to do so. I have had my car serviced at both a Goodyear dealer as well as a local Honda dealer. I tell them what I want done- these cars don't require comprehensive service.
Oil change with synthetic: $ ~40
Trans fluid flush/fill: $ ~45
Coolant flush: $ ~60

All of the other stuff is fluff and dealer profit. You are in no way obligated to pay the dealer to have the car serviced. Find a better deal and stick with that. Plus, just reset the maintenance light. Hold both buttons for the odometer and reset, then turn the ignition to on (without starting)- hold the buttons for ~10 seconds and the light is then reset.
Good luck.

maintnance.

Car runs fine? I agree. It's a waste of money. As long as you have taken care of the car by changing the oil, change the antifreeze, AT fluid, that's all the car needs. You can shut the maintnance light off yourself.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DEALER MAINTAINCE! you dont need any thing other than oil changes and the occasional tranny flush. nothing is needed till 100k then do the allfluids change and the timing belt and water pump.

just wondering if it was a acura dealer or not. because if it wasnt you are going to want to make sure they put honda ATF in your tranny if they did a flush.
