Has anyone taken their supercharged CL- S 6spd to the track???
Im wondering what times it can pull..
13.7 is pretty impressive! Now you can go race all these little rice rockets with type R motors
A Hatchback with a type R motor would be your next best race...

I called Park Ave in NJ and I was told the only Acura Dealer doing 3.5L is Rick Case in FL. Park Ave is going to start soon. All the engine and transmission warantees would be voided. He said it would run $6,000. That is kinda expensive. I would go with the supercharger. I think Comptech is running a special for like $5,000. I was told by Wayne Acura in NJ that there is now a supercharger for the TL-S. I haven't seen it yet on there site. He told me to call them.

please...my dealer installed mine...there is a set price for a short block install the cost of the unit is 2500$ and every single dealership in the country should charge the same 20.3 hours at between 65-85$ per...most of you could find a well qualified mechanic to do it for between 750-1000$...this is a straight bolt in...and BTW my warranty is full intact...

The only dealer doing it right now is Rick Case in FL. Its not a straight bolt on. You need certain attachments. There is a kit out that the dealer uses. I have talked to 2 different Acura dealers in NJ (Park Ave and Wayne) Wayne never even heard about the conversion and Park Ave did hear about it but hasn't done it because they dont have the kit. He said all waranttee would be voided that dealed with the engine and tranny.
This was what I was told.

I think you'd agree that there are a lot of "what-ifs' in a major mod like the one you undertook, therefore, I stand by my inital statement (as far as I'm concerned, again, i mean no disrespect to you or your endeavor).

because my dealer installed it...not rick case...this is a J series block and there are no midifications at all every part bolts upto every exisiting part..perhaps your dealer just doesnt want to do it and that's why theyre giving you a song...my dealer even consulted tech support about it during the install and they said "it's the same thing..." meaning the blocks...and if doug wanted(the builder of the kit) he could easily use your existing block and no one ,absolutely no one could tell anything had been done w/o a complete tear down and inspection to the millimeter...i was there i watched it go in...this by itself is no more a major change than headers and intake,it just takes more labor to do...it comes completely assembled and every gasket is included...again it bolts right up w/o any modifacations...please understand im not trying to sell anybody here...i dont sell them someone else does.if you wanted one now ,not even sure if you could get it,....it's just not as a big a deal as some of you seem to think, only the results are big...

To me, the pricing isn't that outrageous. When you back out the cost of the headers, exhaust, and intake, the price isn't that bad. People drop more into cosmetic stuff and don't think twice. This mod can be done for the cost of a good set of tires and rims. For me, I would rather have less show and more go.
Great runs and an incredible mod.

I'm not real clear though. Is it an MDX short block using 3.2L ported and polished heads?

Well typeR... whatever board you post on it's still mighty impressive. I definitely think that this could be an upgrade of mine in the future.
As for the rest of you guys... you crack me up!! LOL.... here is a part that costs $2500 (plus about $1k install) and not only boosts up your HP.. but really increases your torque and you're all saying it cost too much money, voids the warranty.. blah, blah, blah. And the best part is that you guys are actually arguing about the mod with someone who has actually had it done... too funny.
When you think about it, the typical Intake, headers and exhaust combo would combined $1700 or so ($1000 headers, $500 exhaust, $200 intake) plus installation I think you'll start to see that this mod is awesome. Plus, from that combo above you're only getting about 35-37whp, and not much improvement on torque. Supercharger, go for it. $4500 plus install for 50whp... not worth it in my book. Not only that... but the chances of your warranty being voided by the 3.5L upgrade are the same as adding headers or any other engine mod... so if your dealer is cool with it... then your warranty is fine.
$2500 is about the price some people spend to buy heavy ass chrome rims or huge stereo systems which make the car slower. It depends what you want... show or go. For $2500.. you can get some serious go. I mean look at it.... here you have an auto CL-S running a 13.794@101.54 in Florida. While he did have good conditions, imagine what those times could be for us in the Northeast... especially considering that our engines love the cold air. Damn... that's just too sweet.
Good show typeR

Wow. JB almost made me want to cry. You could probably cut down 90% of the posts (which are all about griping anyway) by quoting a majority of what he said under each topic...
Best of all, he's right...
I'd still like to see the 3.5, exterior mods galore and the s/c bolted on just for the h=ll of it...I only have 20k before my warranty is up so who knows...You'd need steroids to hold onto the steering wheel for all that torque steer-well, at least until your tranny dies a wondrous death...

I can't believe you guys are excited about spending $6k and only getting one second quicker in the 1/4 mile.
When I dumped half that amount into my Miata I went from a 17.5 to a 13.2.
You could run a nitrous kit for under a grand that would get you in the same time range.

Wow...I can't imagine spraying NOS and frying my ride...I think we all know nitrous is the cheapest thing you could possibly do to go fast (while going straight) but I think the TL-S is a beast deserving something a bit more refined...
I still want to waste my $$$ on the s/c...I've never owned a car longer than 2 years, and with all the mods I've made and wanted, I suppose I should just throw a little more money and buy an M3 or a C32 or something, but truly, I LOVE THIS CAR! I drove a G35 sedan for the h=ll of it and I like the Acura so much more beyond the obvious styling issues...Besides, with my mods and $$$ I saved, my TL-S is much stronger...

3.5L upgrade should run no more then $3500-$3700 INSTALLED.
Drops your time from 15.2-15.5 (stock) - to 13.7. $3500 for almost 2 full seconds. That's just too sweet!! Add the S/C and who knows what you would run :wow:
The excitement is also coming from the fact that we're starting to get some mods that pack some serious HP and torque and aren't the standard I/H/E combo. Sure, the parts are a little more expensive for our cars... but if you wanna play you gotta pay
