1156 bulb for turn signal

ok, i want to change my 1157 front turn signal bulb to an 1156. what i want to know is, if i change it to an 1156, will the bulb turn on when i tunr on the parking lights? or will it turn on ONLY when i put the turn signal on? i would like for only my fog lights and low beam to be on when i turn them on.

1156 will not blink. It will be on with the parking lights.

So basically you don't want the front ambers to be in for parking lights.... only for turn signals. Maybe get a 1157 and then cover one of the contacts. If not cut that wire

The 1157 are dual filament....
1 for parking lights
1 for turn signals

cover up the nub that u dont want. give that a try.

i understand that, but the rear turn signal only turns on when you activcate the turning signal and u said the rear turn signal is a modified 1156 bulb. so i was asking if that modified 1156 bulb will work for the front turn signal.

The only "modification" you do is cut/file a tab to make the bulb fit in the housing. Regardless if it's modified or not, by putting a 1156 in the front turn signal, it'll do what NSXNEXT says it'll do.

I suggest you try Bxscig's suggestion.

I don't think a 1156 bulb will fit into a 1157 socket reason being.. the nubs on the bottom dont align correctly.
