Damn man, with that lighter wallet, you should be running low 12s.... I notice you're in stockton, where's the station? I thought the max you can get in Cali is 91.

Unless you are heavily modded, you would have been better buying lottery tickets with the money you spent.

Why? Without FI and an E-manage. You just wasted money. If you like to waste money, just paypal me some.

First question is why? you wont gain anything unless your heavily modified. 2nd question, was it unleaded or leaded?

Same question leaded or unleaded? most race fuel is leaded

The gas won't do anything to a TL besides give you better mileage - it is useless.

100 octane unleaded gas is meant for two things - boosted cars that need all the octane they can get (to avoid detonation); if you have a car that either has pistons with rediculously high compression (over 13:1), or if you can increase your total timing (something we can't do in a TL) to pick up power when you put the gas in.

Raising compression adds about 4% more power per point, so if you were to raise a 500hp motor by 1 point, it would add 20hp - assuming you put in the right octane fuel.

What a waste.

Using a lower octane than the engine is designed for can decrease power, mpg, and performance, but using higher than required octane does not increase any of the 3.

Octane is less combustible than what is made up of gasoline. Thats why it is used in engines with high compression ratio (as someone mentioned above, to resist detonation before the piston reaches highest compressed state which is very bad because it will throw the piston in the opposite way possibly damaging the engine). Because Octane burns slower than the gasoline, it wont give you any power but possibly reduce the performance...

my coworker sometimes adds toluene to his gas tank in his mitsu evo, he says he can feel a little bit of a difference. anyone ever use that stuff? is it worth it in a TL?

Toluene is the number 1 octane booster sold in the US. You need a lot of it to make any substantial difference in octane rating.

No - it's not worth it in a TL.
