I've read the TL-P picks up speed at a snails pace after 100 or when it hits 4th gear. Is this also true with the TL-S??

 

Unfortunately!

 

Its not as bad with a lot of mods... but after 125 or so, mine is sloooooow at accelerating.

 

I wasn't looking at the speedo (and I'm too lazy to do the math) so I don't know the exact speeds involved, but mine slows down after it grabs 4th gear but picks up again pretty nicely once it hits VTEC again.

 

If the TL-S is similar to the CL-S in terms of after 100MPH then the Car jumps to 115 then after it takes a little while. I have no credibility since I only got to 120 twice. So some of the other boys and girls can tell you.

 

Yea this is correct..but when u have some good mods..it will keep up longer then die out slowly...afterall our TL's are not racecars..

 

Geting to 120 MPH is the not the issue, the issue is how to slow down to 0 or let us say to 55 MPH if you got zaped by your finest cops... or someone switched to your lane

From 100MPH to 55 MPH it is freaky least to say.....

 

Who would be crazy enough to try and go 120 where there would be cars that might get in front of you anyway??
I can see if you are on a wide open freeway with no one in front of you..
I've only gone this fast going down an incline on I-5 on my way to LA.


the TL pulls pretty good up until about 90 or so then slows down.. I know cuz I tried it this morning saying hello to a new RSX..

 

Mine shifts from 3rd to 4th at about 195-100mph and it pulls strong all the way to then. Like I said, it still pulls strong in 4th up to about 125-130mph. After that it sucks.

 

You mean you start losing speed shifting from 3rd to 4th (commenting on your typo--"195-100mph")???

No not really... I still have pretty good acceleration after shifting into 4th... around 125-130 acceleration starts to suck. I was winning until 130, then a Prelude passed me!

 

No mods except for a K&N Air Filter.....

Yeah baby...PROOF as soon as I can get the film developed!! I can't wait...I hit 151 last week and I took pics of the speedo at around 148-149. I'm prayin' they come out good.
