There's not many differences I just prefer the accord for less miles and better gearing. I would do the swap just for the better gearing even if my transmission was completely fine

UPDATE:
so i did the swap at 114,000 miles and i am about to hit 117,000 and transmission is still going strong. i've just done a 1x3 and so far so good almost 3000 miles no issues, cross my fingers...
just letting everyone know in case there's still people on the fence about this swap. here in new england we've had some snow already so far shifting and all that is fine.

Because with yours having higher miles will be the real sign. I just hit about 5,000 on mine and I'm not scared to drive it out of town anymore and having to worry about it failing.

Thought about it but I can get two used transmissions for that price. I got one with low miles do I didn't see the point

I just jacked up the front of the car on jack stands. It's not to difficult it's just a lot of stuff to remove and it weighs a good 250-300 lbs. there is a video on YouTube with some of the steps of a guy pulling one out of a 99tl which helped out.

Well I have been a member for awhile but rarely post up. My tranny on my 01 finally died with only 74k on the clock. I just picked up a 07 Accord tranny/converter for 750 that only has 13,xxx miles on it. I am doing the swap next weekend at my friends shop during the weekend.
Have any tips for making this a smooth process that have not been covered in the previous pages.
Thanks for the few that have done this as it just saved me a couple grand from putting in a rebuilt that could have the same problems down the road.

I am looking to do this but the shops are already giving me their opinion on how this is not going to work. AAMCO here in Norwalk, CT is willing to do the job for $800 without any warranty. Just wanted to know if you get the engine hoist and remove it from the top would it make this job easier. I have all the basic tools but wanted to know what I needed to get to do job myself. I have a shop in the Bronx that will do the swap for $400 but I am not sure on their reliability as I have not used them for any big jobs. It should be a simple bolt off an on. I can do all the work to ensure parts get swapped over from old to new and install new pressure switches, gaskets, etc.. and just have them do the bolt back on and connect all the wires.

Try searching for a shop with Honda expertise. Try calling the Honda tuner shops...they swap trannys and engines all the time. Stay away from shops that want to overcharge you for THEIR ignorance. And definitely NO chain stores like AAMCO....they will screw you in more ways than one. This is their guarantee.

Yeah I am steering clear of any shop that starts the conversation with hesitation. Is it necessary to purchase new pressure switches? Is there a way to test them if pulled out from vehicle or would it be easier to test while still connected?

You don't need to but they wear out over time. There not expensive and it's good preventative maintenance

Yeah spoke to AAMCO representative again as he was going to go check my car at the Acura dealership, and he is still stating he doesn't think it is going to work. He spoke to his builder who stated something about the gears being different in Acura and Honda. I was aware of this due to previous mention in this thread. Oh well I have called a couple indie shops and they are talking some reasonable numbers for the install. I will just ensure parts get installed and swapped over and should be fine. I just don't have the space to do the work myself.

Transmission has to come from 06-07 Coupe or sedan v6 engine non-hybrid. I had to drop the whole sub frame, take out both left and right wheel assembly because you have to take out the shafts and have nothing in the way. The hardest part of everything is loosening all the bolts! I lowered the tranny and engine with 1 jack and 4 jack stands, you have to maneuver it out. But make sure you disconnect all the tranny harness before doing it.

How come you dropped the engine?
