'03 Tranny Issues. Fixed? I'm confused...
I recently read in a forum thread that Acura had fixed the tranny issue in the later '03 models. Is this true?? I have been thinking about trading in my '99 for an '03 Type S but have been weary because of tranny/rotor issues.
PS- '99 with 70K- no tranny issues but the brakes....don't get me started!!!

the problem was fixed half way through the 03 model year of production. So the first half of the 03 year have an extended tranny warranty of 7 years or 100K Miles. The second half of the 03 production year does not have this extended tranny warranty. In this case the later half of the 03 production just has 4 year 50K Miles warranty bumper to bumper.
So how do you know ...well you go by the VIN number and ask
Acura to look up if that VIN qualifies for the tranny extension warranty or not. If it doesn't qualify it means it is a later half prodction year and it wont have the tranny problem.
