Supposedly. That's what they claim.

The only reason there is a cutoff VIN is the court case needed a number so they could settle and get the extension in place. The problem was not fixed and they knew it. The replacement warranty units made after feb 2005 have major improvements and very few failures. Sure some are defects, but thats just life and covered under warranty.

late 03 owners get free coverage under ~goodwill~ policy- all you have to do is be nice and talk with the service MANAGER, not the minimum wage person at acura care 800# or the service WRITER, who is looking for commission bonus in his paycheck

most dealers will do it as a good will, or charge 25%, but then you get a 3 yr warranty if they charge you anything, so both options are well worth it

they keep changing the -you pay- portion& warranty-
it was 1 year warranty per 1000 you spend up to 3 years for 3 grand
Normal price to replace is over 4000

Why no goodwill?
It is possible to get acura to pay you back after the fact- if they really should have covered you.

Lets assumes you had a shop do it because you were stuck on a trip and needed emergency repairs. With receipts and a some letters-Acura will often cover up to 2500 refund for work performed by other shops. If you dont ask - they wont give, thats for sure

the 800 number is staffed by minimum wage phone answering people who are tild to deny everything!
Depending on your situation, and if you merely called dealers or have a relationship with one who will work on your behalf.
Written letters to Acura count for more than a phone call.
It can take a few tries but other members have gotten money back
Advice I give for free- getting money back for you- that requires a commission!
I got 3 members coverage AFTER acura blew them off- and not one of them sent a penny in thanks~
