02 type s with 180k good deal?

02 type s with 180k good deal?

this clean blue type s i came across with 180k miles. is 4 grand a good deal? (i work at a dealer so i pay for the vehicle cost) The car is spotless!! physically and as far as driveabilty. plugs and t belt was done at 105k..anything else to look for apart from trans? How long can i go after this 180 mark?

a really long time.

but at 180k you better make sure the tranny has been replaced. otherwise you're looking at a 7k$ car not a 4k$ (3k for a tranny)

Do you know when the Tranny was replaced? These cars last forever.

The one other thing to look out for is the timing belt. just replaced mine at 112k and I am good to go for another 100k

i am not sure exactly "when" it was replaced, but the plugs and belt was done at 105

Was the tranny replaced before or after 2005? If it was replaced before 2005, then you will most likely run into tranny problems again. Especially if your planning to put a lot of miles on the car.

Where in the forum have you ever read that the tranny is different for the Type S? It's not even implied or hinted at anywhere.
