hey wassup guys i was wondering do i need the 02-03 wiering system to put in the new tail light on my 00 tl....or can i just buy the tail light and put them on with no issue...please can someone conform on this thank u

 

with the 02-03 tails, the wiring harness for the turn signals are different, so theortically you are supposedly to change that as well. but some (or most) of us simply get the new tails and electric-tape our old harness & bulbs into the socket (since the old is smaller than the new). just make sure its water-tight and all should be good. save the ~$30

 

do u think there is a DIY for how on doing this....since i dont wanna buy the wier harless and save money...=-) thanx

 

refer to your manual... it's really, really easy. only a matter of unscrewing/unbolting a couple things in the trunk, unplug harnesses/twist off bulbs, take out old tail, put in new one, and so forth. no offense but if one cannot even swap taillights on his/her own, one shouldn't even be modding the car in the first place.

 

mine came with the wiring harness and i just replace the old ones that were on there, if not then you can prolly find it at the junk yard or autozone or something. or just take it from one of your friends TL. and if you have to do the rewiring, it's not hard, one is pos. and other is neg.

dude dont worry about the wiring harness....i pulled my taillights out of a totalled Type S and they fit directly into my 2000 TL. The only reason people get a seperate wiring harness is to swap the amber turn signal bulbs because they dont like the "fried egg" look. i personally dont give a shit


the depos suck too....they have a ugly SAE DOT stamp on them
