I saw an 02-03 TL the other day and its side rear view mirrors had a bluish tint compared to my 00 mirrors. Would it be expensive to replace just the glass with the 02-03 glass?

 

yeah, i asked this awhile ago... i think you could replace it - dunno the price though... someone else could answer this..?

 

you should get the whole mirror. its got a better design and shape to reduce wind noise and and other things

hm.. maybe we can tint it ourselves..? spray soemthing over it...???? tinit in a spray can!

 

as mentioned by fasttyms, the 02-03 mirrors were redesigned due to complaints of wind noise and such....this means that you probably can't just replace the mirror glass part and have it fit right. I have seen something on ebay talking about the blue mirror....I would try there for an aftermarket type film or spray....good luck...I personally would just try to find a salvage TL and buy them there, if you get real lucky you can find the same color you have....

 

The 99-01 has a different shaped mirror so NO you cannot simply swap out the mirror. You have the buy the entire housing + mirror.

Yes you know how many Bugs have pelted me in the head because of the STUPID shaped mirrors on the 2000. i about got knocked out once by a bumble bee because of the shape that forces things into the car

 

you're right, they discontinued that color for 02-03...maybe even sooner, but anyway..go for black, be much easier to find and probably wouldn't look that bad if you couldn't afford to paint them right away....
