02-03 foglight question

Just got my 02 type-s the foglight button has a clear window towards the top of it looking almost like where the green light is on the cruise control button, but nothing lights up on the fog switch except the round image of the fog light, is anything else supposed to light up?

Cool Fog Light Indicator

It's supposed to light up green when they're on, if not, you're indicator light is blown if the fog lights are actually on.

There are two light bulbs inside the switch and can be replaced easily from the right side of the switch. One is for on/off indication, and the other is for night time illumination. They just have to pull out the switch and replace the little bulb. It happened to me too.

I had this happen to me a couple of times....

My easy fix:
1. Open the door.
2. Give the side of the dash a couple of healthy whacks.
3. Try again. Repeat until deemed something else is the culprit.

I never got past step 2.

I think you can pull the switch out from the front, as you are looking at it, as long as you have enough slack in the harness. I've only taken mine out when I was installing my OEM Nav in my non-Nav so I had the dash torn apart anyway. I'll go out and take a look at mine.

You'll need to remove the bottom dash cover, under the steering wheel, in order to get you fingers behind the fog light switch to push it out. I was lazy and tried to push out the switch from reaching inside through the side fusebox-cover opening, but my fingers couldn't even reach the back of the switch.
