First of all - that's a '99.. not a '01 as they advertise. maybe worth checking out. Passenger side looks pretty bad though...

 

Don't you mean '00? The '99 was the old body style. Didn't the fogs and new tails (w/o yellow) cut in in '01?

 

That car is either a 2000 or 2001. The 99 did not have a 5 speed auto and the 2002 added the driving/fog lights.

 

That is either an 00 or an 01. 99-01 had no fogs, and had amber tails. 99 was the only year for the 4 speed. This car has to be a 5 speed trans, check out the shifter gate, on the bottom, you can pull it to the left for 1. 99 isn't like that.

Hood probably is damaged too on the right side, and don't forget interior - some parts missing there. No mileage - means they can not turn ignition on - I wonder why? And if you think labor is peanuts - think again. Plus a decent pain job of this size - minimum $1000; bodyshop will most likely suggest painting the whole car - and they will be right. So at the end it will cost AT LEAST $4500 (more like $6000-7000) to fix it up so it is not a shame to drive... And you will have a beat up car...

 

the car is a 2001, since they changed the model in 2002.

 

I wasn't Suggesting to pay a shop to do it I was telling him what the cost would be for parts to make it look like a real car again. I put "+ labor" instead of $XXXX estimated amount of dollares. Labor rates are different in different areas of the country. I disagree that it would need a new paintjob... It seems pretty good to me and you really don't have to worry about the color BLACK matching the color BLACK. Granted the new fenders would be a little more bling I would just give the car a really good buffing job after the new body peices were on. And plenty of Zaino

If you fixed it good you wouldn't have a problem getting a clean title. My 99TL has a salvage history but I posess a clean title. Does having a clean title that has a salvage history bother me?? Absolutly not since I know I fixed the car perfectly <B> AND IT PASSED INSPECTIONS!! </B>

Offer the guy 7 K and have a cheap azz TL that you could get a clean title for and sell for $15 - 20 K. You could easily make $5,000 with fixing it and turning it over.

If he could do it himself, I doubt he would be asking our advice... And at least new parts will have to be painted, so yes, it will need a pain job. But I doubt the guy will take 7K for it...
