hey do any off you guys knopw what is required to make the 01 cls seats work in a 99 tl do i have to switch all the motors from the old seat or is it just wiring?

 

just some wiring, harnesses are a lil different.

 

is it plug and play i searched and a memeber here said he changed all the seat motors and stuff is that really necessary or its just wiring?

 

is the seat brackets the same as the tl?

 

i think it is im gonna try wiring it ill post if it dosent work

 

so today i got a chance to put the seat in i tried the passenger side and the seat i cut the made a wiring harness the cl has like 9 more wires and 6 of them are black and the 99 harness has only 4 black wires i connected them one by one and got the seat to tilt back and up but i can get it to go back and front does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 99 tl and 01 cl let me know thanks

 

and for the driver side i took the cushions apart does anyone know hwo to take apart the handle it pushes the lower back part up and down i can seem to figure how to remove it

 

rockstar21 just changed the cushions between the type s and tl-p seats, maybe you could do that

 

mine are cl so they have that thing on the side to fold the seats and the 99 tl doesnt so i dont think that will work the new cushions are gonna have a hole the wiring does work for the passenger it back goes down and up it just doesnt go front and back lol

 

i just changed the wire plugs and they work.

what i did was i cut the harness of the 99 seat and joined it on the cl seat on the 99 tl harness there 2 or 3 black wires and on the cl seat harness there about 6 black wires i connected it one by one and i still cant get the seat to go front and back just got it to tilt up and down please let me know thanks

 

i swapped the cls leather and cushions only. the handle that brings the seat forward can be removed, youll just see the trim that goes around it

 

but can i attch that on the 99 tl frame?

 

oh im talking about that lever that makes the seat fold the cl is 2 door i dont think i can put that on a 99 frame but let me know i could be wrong

 

third gen tl seat are sweet. Are they direct fit?

 

im sure it can be put on a 99 frame, will require quite a bit of work

 

I know that anything with custom work will fit. But I had a problem with some racing seats that I ordered for my Prelude back in the day. We installed steel brackets on top of the stock brackets to make the seat fit. It worked great. But it sits higher than stock, I mean I was almost touching the headliner with my head
I just love to see my second gen with those third gen seat. I gives it a nice sporty look.

 

hey guys i got swapped the 99 wiring over to the cl and it works so i bolted the passenger side seat everything in and then i find out when i press the button for the seat to go back only one side slides back the other side doesnt so does anyone know what the problem can be maybe a bad motor? how hard is it to swap motor on a seat is there a diy? the driver side cl is at work so i wont be able to test that till monday

 

Did you double check that the wiring is correct/not damaged?

 

hey guys does the lever to fold the seat down touch the panel on the side when you tilt it or go slide the seat back? is there a way to fix that?

 

so 3rd gen seats are a direct installation on the 00's?
