00 TL Trans Line
00 TL Trans Line
Hi,
I just picked up an 00 TL for short money, but it has some issues that I am working on. I found that under the transmission, there is a line that is corroded and leaking. If I had to guess, I would say that its a transmission cooler line, since it runs to what looks like the radiator. Can anyone advise? I have included a picture. Where it is leaking is circled in red. Thanks
Randy

I almost wonder if it might go into the transmission on the bottom, then run to the back where it connects to that black hose and go up and feed the trans cooler. I saw a hose like that one coming from the bottom, when I was looking at the top.
I think I may have found it. It looks like it is connected to the engine mount; some kind of a system that stiffens the engine ride? On the diagram, there is a line that runs under the engine. It is called an electronic control mounting solenoid. Thanks for your input though; I appreciate it.
I did not know the 00 offer them but the Engine in the Facelift TL (02/03) has both Hydraulic Engine Mounts which are Vacuum Assisted..
If you got those then that line is for VACUUM ONLY and does not contain any kind of Oil, If there is oil in the line then check your Front Engine mount.. When shot they can leak the hydraulic fluid and perhaps that is the oil you are seeing.

I had a transmission leak at the cooling line filter on the top ( filter is all rusted and leaking). When the fluid leaked down, it kind of ran over to the area around where the line is, so I assumed that it was trans fluid. I found the line on the net from an Acura dealer for only $12.00, so I am going to go ahead and change it. Thanks for your input though; I appreciate it
