I wonder how it works?....Well I just called Escort and they answered some of my questions. Ask to talk to Christy....very nice girl. She said that her father got one and she will get to play with it over the July 4th weekend and to call her back Monday. (Something about chicks that are into car stuff that just makes you smile ear to ear).

All you do is plug it into your cigarette ligher power and calibrate it for your car (give it the weight I guess and maybe other things). Must have gyros or motion sensors or something.

She told me that the power cord that comes with it isn't very long. So if you want to conceal the power then you need to get the $29 direct wire cable.

Only the GT2 model will allow you to connect it to your computer for downloading data and graphing it and doing other stuff with it. The data cable comes with the software CD.

Call Christy for more questions if you have them and then post here any new information. 1-800-433-3487

Looks like a G-Tech pro... a little nicer. Not as nice as the new G-Tech Pro Competition.

Escort G-Timer

I bought one yesterday. Lots of fun! I got the GT2. It has two accelerometers in it. Was surprised how sensitive it is. Just plug it in and go. No need to enter weight or drag coefficient unless you want it to compute and display horsepower. Did several runs. Most 0-60 times were between 6.28 and 6.85. Quarter mile times just under 15. Bought a an 03 TLS last August and have really been enjoying it. Am very new to modifying cars. Only has a CT icebox so far. Am ordering CT Headers today! How much are people paying?

Everywhere I looked the GT2 was $250. That's what I paid. I'm fortunate to have some disposable income. I really had a blast with it yesterday. The way it comes, you can take it from vehicle to vehicle. You could put it in a friends car and compare, etc. Am thinking about getting the direct wire connect so I don't have a cable on my dash.

Really does seem to be very sensitive. I'm guessing it's pretty accurate too based on the times on got. When I had a bad start, my 0-60 would be up over 7 secs. I did a couple with a down hill start and got around 5.5 secs. The runs on flat roadway were consistent between 6.3 and 6.8. The manual is online at escortstore.com.

I think I am sold. I will check eBay and Sharper Image, I can use Discover cash back there.
