to be honest they probably have now the real questions is are they good. i would ask to see a set that they have done b4 becuase you will be highly pissed off if your HID's start acting up after you get this work done. know what i mean
$600!? For what? Labor?
You aren't actually getting anything but labor and a little paint... they take apart your lights, paint 'em black (which I don't think looks so hot, JMHO), take out the reflector (which I also don't think looks too hot
) and put it back together again?
Why not get some Comptech springs and sways for your $600? Or Comptech exhaust? Or a kick ass stereo system? New rubber for your stock rims? Or keep saving towards really kickass rims? Or buy one really kickass rim!

I tried to clear out my half broken headlamp today as an experiment (it was going in the trash anyways)
All I have to say is it was pretty difficult to heat the old silicon and keep it totally hot to be able to start removing the lense without leaving pry marks and/or deforming the housing.
I think I might have had more luck with a heatgun from Home Depot or something. I was using a ****ty travel hairdryer.
I'll be buying a heatgun anyways for my shop and will post results when done. Someone has posted instructions on how to do it yourself on another forum. I'll post a new topic here if need be with the instructions.
If you pay this guy $600 to do this work, your crazy! How do you know they are going to correctly re-seal your entire headlamp? I would not pay someone to do it if I were you. IMHO
But that does sound about the right amount for the labor that is involved in this. It is very tedious (unless there is a special chemical that will remove the old silicone. Speaking of which, does anyone know if there is? (could save me like 5 hours of work when I start this project

when you consider StreetEffectz only charges $150 to clear the headlights, $600 is a CRAPLOAD of money for that!
I'm sure for $450 more he'd throw a coat of paint on it when the lights are apart! Hell, I cleared my headlights myself, I'll do the damn thing for you for $500

I could probably do the clearing and have it custom painted at my body shop with real paint (just like on your car) for about $450. If I just did it myself with some nice enamel, figure around $300 for clearing and painting.
i live in vancouver, canada and i wuz quoted $150 canadian to clear my headlights!!! (thatz about $100 US) and i still thought that wuz expensive and ended up doin it myself for free... it really wuzn't 2 hard. u don't really have 2 know much about cars or b a genius 2 clear ur headlight... and as for blacking it out, just get some black spray paint for $10 (or $20 for the better kinds) and spray it urself... if u really insist on having somebody else do it for u, mail ur headlamp over to me and i'll do it for u for $150(i'll pay for the shipping
