$220 to replace fog light assembly. Can i get it cheaper?

Finally went to dealer and they want $220 for the foglight assembly, pluse labor to install. Which, it aint hard to install, ill do it myself. But $220?

Its only the lense that is broken. Is there a way to replace the lense only? Or do i have to replace the entire assembly?

If so, can i get it cheaper than $220.

Actually, Acura sells just the lens for $40, but they're on national backorder.

Tim was selling them on this site and I put my name on the list. But then the I suspect that the backorder grew so long that Tim removed it from the listing. My name's still on the list!

BTW, Tim, what's the status of that order?

I've decided to wait for the lens replacement to come rather than blow $200 on the whole assembly. I simply went to a local hardware store and bought some silicone caulk and sealed the crack myself. It's held up pretty well so far!

Click this link to see the process.
Click here to see how the foglamp assembly is attached to the bumper.

Wow I thought I was the only one with a cracked fog light, mine is on the right side. I've been waiting well over 2 months for my replacement and still hasn't come in.... I was thinking about putting that clear bra plastic on the fogs, but I think the fogs might get too hot... What you guys think? I don't have enough money to keep on buying the fogs...

well the fogs are hot to start with anyway, and putting the xpel (the clear bra plastic you talked about, only it's thicker) doesnt' hurt anything at all. i have tried turning on the fogs on for more than 4 hrs and the plastic is still intact, nothing at all. i highly recommend it. for 80 bucks (4 pieces, 2 headlights and 2 fogs) it's a great buy. it has lifetime warranty and it can stand impact of 120mph.....

i travel between LA and here a lot and i never got a crack or so after i put the 4 pieces on. otherwise i would have spend lots more on the lens.

Here's the link to the xpel stuff:

http://www.xpel.com/headlight/produc...=5&image1.y=11

they also have the hood/side mirrors and the bumper kits. however, the hood piece is not very high, and the bumper kit doesn't cover the whole bumper all the way to the sides. mr. hyde actually suggested some other stuff. but for the lights, the xpel stuff are pretty good

installation is not hard at all too, you just need some patience i did it myself and the result is pretty good.
