Question "Wood" or "Bowling-ball" trim?

Which one do you prefer?

For sure, "wood." The "bowling ball" trim resembles nothing that occurs naturally, so it looks even more fake than the fake wood--if that makes sense.

Makes sense and I agree. I like the wood better.

I like wood better. The fake black marble makes me want to cancel my order!

I have always loved wood interiors. I would have liked to have seen a black burlwood interior, or a light bird's-eye maple for the ebony. I have not actually seen the "bowling-ball" trim, but if it were black burlwood, I am sure it would look really awesome.
If you are interested in different color wood interiors, check out this site:

For a gray wood interior: http://www.rau-autowood.com/roverrhino.htm

And, for any color you want: http://www.rau-autowood.com/palette.htm

Carbon-Fiber doesn't occur naturally but IMHO is the sweetest dash kit available for today's cars. If you want to see sweet wood check out the interior of the 3rd generation '02 Infiniti Q45 - DAAAAAM!

I prefer the look of wood overall, but I don't actually hate the dark trim on the type-S.

The AMG E55 had smoked Walnut trim that actually looked pretty nice. I think that's what Acura was going for with the black stuff on the CL-S, but instead they produced bowling ball plastic. I hate it. I also hate the fake aluminum trim on the BMW 3-series; it looks like what you'd find on a cordless phone or something.

I think wood trim gives a car a more classy look. This bowling ball stuff does look a bit odd. Carbon fiber or some other darker wood interior would make the TL-S look sporty and better.

I would also prefer the 'fake wood' treatment as opposed to the 'black wood'. But.... that won't stop my from buying the car. All that was added to the car by far compensates for this minor 'blemish'.. I'm sure there are kits similar to those available for the current TL to change the plastic trim in the TL-S.
