Using TL coilovers?

So, I have heard about several people using TL coilovers on the KB1s, but want to know if there is any needed modification. Also, when guys are switching are they using the 04-08 TL coilovers. Obviously in the rear it is a coil over strut being used like in the front. I have a friend with a set and want to know if they will work.

You've heard of several people using TL coilovers on 2G RL's? Would love to hear from some of these people. We have quite a few RL members here. To my best knowledge, this is the biggest forum dealing with 2G RL's, (I'm sure there are some Legend forums overseas that are bigger). I've never come across an RL around here with TL coilovers.

There are a few guys in Instagram that have them and SlammedAcuraTL had them according to one his threads. But, no one can give me any details.

Wow... this is terrible.....

This is a no-brainer.... the KB1 tips in at a near 2 tons... this is not your featherweight pocket rocket folks!!!

The rear suspension is designed to carry the load on the spring seat receiver as seen below...notice how the sheetmetal is massively reinforced and the load is vectored in a conical fashion to the rear frame rail. This rail can carry the load of half the weight of the car. A very stout load bearing design, indeed...
Are there any questions??

The rear parcel shelf sheet metal is shown below.... This rather mildly reinforced yet totally un-gusseted flat of transverse structural tie, was only designed to bear the compression and rebound damping forces as the static anchor for the rear shock dampers, and never the actual weight of the rear portion of the car..

In mounting coilovers on the rear of a KB1, it places a 3 fold load of both laden vehicle weight and dynamic damping forces, both up and down, on this metal lid that supports the backs of the rear seats.. what do ya think???

So, I read elsewhere in this forum that having something fit is very not-the-same as having something work properly... In time the spot welding may elongate and fail... maybe not... just ask the parcel shelf periodically and it may tell you...

very good eye... called it like it is...a generic Tein taper spring that I decided not to use and returned the Largus spring instead but cut one coil out of it first. I got the ride height I wanted and all is well... by the way, Largus harmonics are amazing cost performance and I am blown away. 32 step clickers that actually work. More compliant and the spring rate is matched better than the one off Ohlins DFV I had fabricated for my Escort RS Cosworth, which set my back 5 grand. F me.
