Has anyone tried installing 255/45/17 instead of the stock 245/50/17? There are so many more choices with the 255/45/17 figure vs. the stock one.

 

It would fit, but your overall diameter would be .6" less.

 

I JUST spoke to Tirerack, and you could go to a 255/50/17 to get the same diameter and specs. I only asked about summer tires, not all season, and the Bridgestone RE 750 came up, seems like a very nice tire. Also some Kumho's.
Lots of choices at 18 inch wheels he said.

 

I just came from the Kumho Ecsta ASX in 18" form on my TLs. These tires were still quiet at just under 10k miles I put on them before upgrading to the RL>

 

kirbyflorida, lots of choices at 18" wheels? Tirerack have ONLY 6 wheels for 2-nd gen RL.

 

He said they had lots of tire choices for 18 inch wheels, sorry, I was not clear.
