Help with "ebony black" rims

I need to get two rims repaired, but I don't have a clue as to what the finish of these rims actually is.

Is it:

An actual black chrome?

A chrome rim with a "smoky" clear coat?

A black powder coat with a translucent silver?

----------

When I look at the inside of the rim (i.e. the wide part usually covered by the tire) it looks like the rim is just a basic alloy finish, there's a little bit of what looks like overspray from black paint and where there's a few curb rashes it looks like a black base with a silver top.

No shop here in Hawaii will touch a "black chrome" rim. But if the finish doesn't require actually re-plating the rim, I could probably just give one of the shops a process to follow and hope for the best.

Assuming these are Acura wheels, they are "ebony chrome-look". They are NOT actual chrome at all. They are alloy wheels that are colored and clearcoated. They should be theoretically pretty simple to repair.

Thanks. Since I had some spare time, I did some additional research.

They are a two or three stage paint job. Black base with either: multiple layers of a translucent silver or a translucent silver with lots of clear.

Thanks for the quick response.
