5zigen zr+520 in Silver chrome or Hyper gunmetal?

hey guys im seriously considering these rims, but i am in a little predicament. ive spoken to 5zigen and they have a fit for our rl's in either 18 or 19 in 5x120 with a +37 offset to clear the brakes. Now i originally want these in 19' S/c but they do not have it in the U.S or Japan in a 5x120 lug pattern. They do however have it in the following finishes: Bronze, Silverchrome, and Hyper gunmetal but only in 18 x 8.5 and in 19 they only have it in Bronze and hyper gunmetal, my other option is to get it in 19' silverchrome with a lugpattern of 5x114.3 and have it professionaly machined to fit the RL. I spoke with my cousin who owns a tire and wheel shop and also 5 zigen and both said it wouldnt be a problem to have a machined, but being that i am not to familiar with that i am a little skeptical. Being that my car is CGP/taupe, i am not sure how the hyper gunmetal with contrast with it, if i chose to machine the 19'. Please guys i need some advice/help and opinion on the finish.

depending on the size and finish anywhere between $300-$350.

here is the link to 5zigen http://www.5zigenusa.com/english/pro...er/ZR+520.html

and gunmetal on a GCP? wouldn't it be too dark?

One thing to consider, tires are much more limited, and expensive in the 19 inch size, not as bad the OEM 17 size, however. Just do a quick search to find out

Those are some handsome wheels. I think the silver chrome in 19's would look best. However, I would not have the guts to purchase then take to get new holes drilled to fit a 5 X 120 lug pattern.

mmmmmm.........S2000.......mmmmmmm.....

...oh wait....back on topic.....

I'd go with the silver chrome with your CGP, the hyperblack might be a bit dark for that color. What we really need, though is someone with Photoshop skills to help us out.

As far as getting the wheels bored for 5 X 120, it's not that big a deal other than cost. RonJon has done that for a couple of RL owners wanting the Legends, and they worked out nicely.

One more thing, 19" tires are considerably more expensive than the 18" and 20" versions.
Good looking wheel though.

I agree, those are really nice looking wheels. However, I can't help but notice that they are a tad bit heavy. Ronjons are lighter I believe. It would be a hard choice for me.

Ah, here it is: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=weight&page=2

According to rondog,

"18" x 8" with a 52mm offset- 22.6lbs
19" x 8" with a 52mm offset- 23.7lbs

Even the 19" wheel is lighter than the stock 17" x 7" wheel which weighs in at around 24 lbs. I hope this satisfies those who were hopeing the wheels were light."

I don't know if he was referring to the RL wheels for the 17", since ours is 17" x 8".

And then according to the 5zigen site, the 18"x8.5" comes in at 26-28lbs. Quite a difference. But they look so nice.

Not to get off topic or anything, but I saw these:

http://www.rotawheels.com/wheels.asp?wheelid=45

They look pretty nice too, but I wonder if the +35 offset would work.

now im looking at the 18'' in silver chome, for the fact of no drilling require and more choices to tires and less weight, but i would really love the 19'' if it wasnt so heavy, hell if the silver chrome came in 19'' i would of gone with it. such a tough decision.

If weight is an issue, perhaps the 5zigen cast wheels are not for you. There may be other choices available that give you the lighter, stronger wheel in an 18 or 19.

Unfortunately, that means you start the search over again.

with a 19 x 8 wheel im thinking 245/40/19 or with an 18x8.5 im thinking 255/40/18? for a little less sidewall to "maximize" the look of the wheels per say. what do you guys think? stick with the oem size of 245/45/18 or explore with the 255/40 series?
