I've always liked the a-spec bodykit... And those wheels compliment it perfectly!

P.S. Years ago, I used to live in a "front plate state" and it was the worst. The plate was so hard to keep clean and the plate holder scuffed up the front bumper. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.

That looks absolutely perfect! Makes me want to run out and buy all that stuff for mine! Love the wheels! Gus gets credit for finding those! They look great on the el and complement the aspec kit.

I was gonna go with the 40 series but the price difference was rediculous it went from being 180 a tire to like $225 and after I saw that DXplicit was runnin 20's on 225/30's I figured I could get away with the 235/35's

i went to tire rack and looked up 19" tires and it says we should be running 255-40-19.... are 255s really going to fit?
would htey have fit on your 8.5" wide wheels?
price difference from 255 to the size have is like $50/tire for PS2s....
i guess my question is - on wheels like yours - what is the optimum tire size....?

i know from past experience buying tires... sometimes if you put the "biggest" tire on a whel that will fit, you can actually see what looks like the sidwall somewhat "bulging"...hard to describe what i mean..but the tread almost sticks out too far...as if it looks like you put a tire on the wheel that was too big... as with many things, there is a "sweet spot" for a set tires size/ wheel width...
for this particular wheel..there is some size tire that is the "ideal" size...regadless of the price/availability... there is some size that will best equal the stock overall diameter and will fit the width of the wheel such that it looks square with the wheel/fit perfectly....
anyone knwo what that size is? poppintec - yours look great in the pics...do you think they are the ideal size or you think you could actually hae gone a bit wider?
I can't get over how good your car looks..those wheels are great! did you ever figure out how to get TPMS working on them? *CAN* we get TPMS to work on these wheels by just moving the sensors from the OEM wheels to these or does that not work???

my brotha, on a 8.5 width wheel optimal will be a 235-245 width a 255 will be meaty as hell. I am far from a fan of "recommended sizes" as they look like ass. I have had anything from 225 (light stretch) to a 245 on an 8.5 inch wheel. You also need to take into consideration the aspect ratio as well as this will compromise the "look" you might be looking for as well Poppin is running the 35 series tire which gives it a solid low profile apperance which most are a fan of. If you choose to go 40 series you will have slightly more sidewall which will offer a lil more protection on your pot holes and such but might be a little too meay again if you arent looking for that look
If you like the way Poppin's looks but are alright spending a lil more money on the tire you run if i were to run these wheels id throw on a 245/35/19 as the factory 17's run a 245 so it wont look too narrow from the rear. good luck on your purchase my man.

I have 255's, and they fit fine on 8.5, but not 8 inch wheels. Tire Rack has never changed their recommendation from back in 2006. In those days, the proper 245/40-19 size was very pricey and very rare in anything except full out summer tires. They are about 1.5% too large, but within that 2% variation range that is acceptable in conventional terms.
So are you saying that 245-40-19 is the correct size and the 255 is 1.5% too big ?
Or the 245 is too big...
I don't want the whels to look too skinny but don't want them too fat and bulgin outside wheels face/ lip.

FYI - for any of you who may also be considering these wheels - oemwheelsplus says the all silver ones are on backorder for several weeks... i called to get weights..
the 19x8.5 weights 25.9 lbs each.. which are the ones poppintec used.
the wider 9.5 wheels weigh 28.3 lbs...
I believe i read that our OEM wheels weigh about the same... give or take a little bit..but I believe the 19x8.5 wheels woudl be close enough that it would not be a problem.
anyone care to comment?

Agree!!. The other reason i gotthese wheels it's because i dont see myself changing wheels on winter time.
When it comes to Tires size. I think that 245/35 will give you more protection on pot holes and still looks great. I will not go over to a 255/35 .
