My 05 RL

Got this baby last year...$7500...its awesome. The only thing is that the leather on the arm rest and the console had been stretched by a vaccuum and looks like shit. But it can haul ass. Cant wait to see if I can get some spacers for the TL rims im buying....does anyone have this color RL and put new rims on it?

Lakeshore Silver with mods? Never heard of one.

3G TL Wheels:

Ridin' on aqua...

And here's a link to your shitty arm rest dilemma's solution.

Best thing was it was garage kept, not a ding on it, and was only used for business. Previous owner was a pharm rep and would drive from Houston Dallas etc all the time so it had alot of miles 132k...but you would never be able to tell. It's a beast. Now I understand why Acura owners love them.

My personal opinion is "STEP AWAY FROM THE SPACERS", my experience has been horrible: vibrations, shaking when braking and other things.

BUY wheels that "FIT" or redrill wheels that will fit.

Not worth the headaches!! but some may say they are great, or recommend these wheel adapters that come with spacers built in with longer lug studs or soemthing like that which works better. someone will chime in on that.

I deleted your thread and sent you an email yesterday explaining why.

Agreed 100%....especially if you're taking the risk with spacers for something as basic as base TL 17" wheels. To add to that, I also don't agree with redrilling wheels either. Messing around with the structural integrity near the wheel center is just asking for trouble. There are just too many wheel options out there to mess around with either one of these things.

So the only difference i can find about the rims is that the TL rims i just bought are offset 55mm and I THINK I need less than 45mm. Thats about the extent of my knowledge...I should probably just stay in the kitchen and make sandwiches. lol

Those TL wheels should have the same specs as the stock wheels, 17x8 +55 offset. The difference is that they don't have enough room behind the spokes to fit over the front brake calipers on the RL. This necessary room is something that has absolutely nothing to do with the overall specs of the wheel, (diameter, width, offset). It all has to do with the way the wheel was designed as far as the spoke placement and how much room there is from the back of the spokes to the hub on the car. It's something that can't be determined any way other than test fitting.

You live in Texas so go check out your local Discount Tire. They'd be more than happy to help you out. Just an FYI, they will not put spacers on your car or work on anything that has floating spacers on it.

He should know by now that you are always right. Even when you are wrong, you are probably right.

If you have the wheels, jack the car up and put one on the front. Then you can show your husband why you are always right.

Oh trust me! When he gets off of work i'm sure that is the 1st thing he will try to do, jack it up and try to put it on...while he is sweating for no reason and wastes a good 30 minutes of his life...ill be kicked back on the porch watching the whole unnecessary spectacle. And thanks...I got an awesome deal.

those tl wheels should be 5X120 lug pattern. so since you had the older tl wheels on they are not gonna just bolt up.
there is a company called motorsport-tech that can custom make hub centric adapters. i know this cause its what i did to run the new mdx wheels.
i have no vibration problems.

So I'm just going to sell the rims... tried a 5/16 spacer and still not enough room...not worth buying the ones with built in lugs. Sighhhhh. At least I got new tires.
