gus - you mean you want an 07-08 TL-S.. or you're waiting for Acura to relase an "S" version of the 4G TL??

yeah.. I think i could trader my RL and loose the looks for an 07-08 TL-S. The way i see it, All Sport sedans are aiming to staying with 6 cylinders or 6 cylinders w small turbos.

Or maybe in the future ( 2 year )... for the G8 GXP. I don't think reasonable paying 36K for car with NO GPS or Voice Command and lack of interior only to get 360whp.

the G8 is a fast car, but honestly, it's a piece of $hit. if you even REMOTELY enjoy the luxury features of the RL then you would frickin' HATE a G8. I test drove one and was very impressed with how it drove, but the interior if VERY basic... it's very cheap looking too.... the RL makes the G8 look like it was assembled at Mattell....

If I was lookking for sporty / performance, but I liked the RL / Acura feel - I would rather get into a newer TL.... not the older TL-S... or a G8..

the new FWD TL is every bit as fast/sporty as a TL type S and honestly, while I think teh Type S is a nice car, it looks dated now... the 07-08 Type S TL is a great car and if you got a good deal on one, go for it.. but if I was shoppig for a TL I'd realy try to get into an 09+. it feels light years newer in the cockpit for SURE!

If I were to sell or trade my RL and was looking for a sporty sedan, I'd get a 6MT TL. when they start to hit the CPO market I may grab one.. no way i[m paying $40+ for one now.. screw that... in a couple years you will be able to snatch up a low mileage CPO one for under $30k... just wait.

who knows..maybe by then, the prices on 2011 RLs will drop and you can grab one of those.. i thinka nicely pimped 2010/2011 RL would be nice.. sounds the the engine/tgranny is tuned more aggressive and it's a bit more sporty than our 05-08 models... i need to try one...

when I see 037s RL... I know you can make then ew ones look HOT.

althohgh I have to admit..if you go over to the 4G TL forums and check out the pics ... there are some frickin' amazing looking 4G TLs.... I mean HOT.. go look..

https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-photograph-gallery-296/my-tl-lowered-vip-modular-wheels-vxs-110-few-upgrades-792986/

i'll save you a click.. here it is...

looks nice... i could go for one of these.........

if that TL gets the RonJon grille it would be nice. Still looks like that walrus/seal that has a big schnoz.

yes.. that 4G is sick!!!! the RL is still a nicer and more luxurious ride..but I could sure go for one like that one... also keep in mind, he dumped thousands into that one.. including Tein with EDFC... works wheels.... $$$$

I'd be happy with a 4G SH-AWD, OEM body k it, OEM 19s and a mild drop on springs..

i wouldn't mind a firmer ride ona tricked TL... it fits on that car...

23109VC thanks,! U have made a point here. 4G TL can have an agressive look too. G8's can't come close to this. Nice ride. I guess we wait and see.

Use this calculator . Place your RL KA9 stock wheels Off Set and width vs the Wheels you want to buy. And the calculator will tell you how wide the rims will run. If you are ok with new rims width. I will say go for it. Your car is FWD ? Calculator -- http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

For the tires... You will have to buy 1 used tire to see if the profile "35 " fits on the back or you have to run " 30".
Once you know that fitz, then buy 4 tires. In my case, I bought the 4 rims first and then the Tires. I spend buying the wrong size for the front tires since my car is AWD.
If your car is FWD it won't matter. Just make sure to test fit the use tire with those rims you want.

Hey gus do you have any problems with staggered because i want to purchase some rims that are staggered, people have been telling me its bad for awd i dont know. Is there anything i should know because i want to get black m5 rims from oemwheelsplus it has a 40 offset, would i need anything else to make it fit. do you think 275/40/19 will fit in the back and 245/40/19 in front without rubbing?
Thanks!

Razz, if you want to sun staggered with the AWD, you need to find tires that will have a diameter within 1% of each other from front to back. People here have successfully done staggered. There are tire size calculators online that will tell you the tire diameter for different setups.

sorry , was not logged in for a while.

Running Staggered Rims will not hurt your Transmission as long as tires sizes are close and rear tires doesn't go faster than the front tires. Seee www.1010tires.com Tires size Calculator and compare between size.

My recommendation= Buy Go with the same 4 rims 19x8.5 or 19x 8 and use profile tires = XXX/40/19. Reason: Last week i hit a pot hole and have front wheel Bend. Im having a hard time replacing my Front Wheels since real M3 rims ahve Off set 20 and will not clear my front Calippers. Need Off set > 35.

Hi I need your help please. I have 06 Acura RL with Tech package and want to depax my car asap as my tires are falling apart all around edges. I want the rim you have in all silver with non staggered 18". I emailed oemwheelsplus and a spec wheels but cant get anybody to say they do fit my car using hub ring set and others have mentioned may or may not clear calipers. Can you let me know if they will work? This is the link to the wheels i think are same as yours from oemwheels plus
http://www.oemwheelsplus.com/bmw/18-...heels-set.html Thanks for any help, as I am worried I am out of time of my tires!

get some opinions from others on this website before you buy those wheels.... I saw quite a few members buy those wheels, or similar style wheels from this seller... and right away I saw several of them for sale in the used section.... I suspect they may be crummy quality?

maybe bend easily? or just too heavy?

I was interested in them too as they look good and the price is great.. but I think the old saying is probably true... you get what you pay for...

you'd be better off finding a set of used Aspec OEM wheels in my opinion....

also check out ronjon wheels... more costly but they are specifically made for Acura fitment and look nice. he has links on this page to his site with a huge gallery of photos...

it's very hard to find wheels for the RL.... I have seen countless pics of people putting wheels on the RL and VERY few of them look good to me.. it's not that the wheels are bad wheels..it's just that something about the look of the RL seems to flow poorly with aftermarket wheels..and there is very little to pick from b/c of our calipers in the front... many nice looking wheels just won't fit... so you have less to pick from.

also.. if you add wheels... it REALLY helps to lower the car. i've seen pics of cars on here with sweet looking 18 or 19 inch wheels... at stock ride height and it looks weird... similar car, same whels.. dropped... looks gorgeious. keep that in mind.

good luck. i'm in your boat.. i want wheels..and am on the fence with what to do.

Im not a fan of rivets, but I like the resemblance to ASpecs.

Did you mean to type 145, or is that a double typo?

Gus - I like them!! Very nice! I also like how the painted gray part of the wheels matches your car! for a gray car like yours they look excellent.

I recently put on aspec wheels..and I have to admit.. I wish my wheels were a bit larger..but for the deal I found on my wheels... I had to get them.

how much did you pay for the wheels?

are they heavy??? problem with a lot of the 19" wheels..they weigh too much...

i also liked your old wheels.. those BMW replicas.. but these look good too.. they look almost like 19" aspecs!

thanks for the pics!
