2006 RL Pics!!
Thanks!!! Actually, my wife drives the TL, it was hard convincing her to "let me" trade in the VAN for an RL.... I traded in a 2003 MDX for the Odyssey mini-van back in 2005 (that was the biggest auto mistake I ever made). Honda Odyssey does not hold a candle to an MDX... But anyway, very happy in my new RL and might I say WHAT an amazing car...
As far as the pin striping goes, for some reason my acura dealer added pin striping & window etching to ALL their RLs, hence it was an option you paid for when aquiring the vehicle.... I found that very odd and honestly not something I would have opted for on my own. Not sure why they did that, but my sales person said it was just something they do...
Thanks again for the feed back...

Thanks!! Yeah, we have gone through quite a few Acuras in the Va Beach / Newport News area... 2001 Integra Riddle Acura (now Priority), 2003 MDX Hall Newport News, 2005 TL Hall Newport News, and now 2006 RL Hall Newport News.... They have been very good to us and look forward to getting my wife the new MDX when it appears on the market.... Ofcourse I am a little disappointed in the SPY shots of the MDX on Edmunds.... The CONCEPT shots looked great but the production/spy shots made the MDX look like a PONTIAC SUV.... I am sure this is discussed elsewhere in another part of this forum....
Thanks again,

Nice...Congrats!
My uncle traded in his 02 TL-P for the RL, and will be trading in his Odyssey this year for an MDX
(I go to his place in Toronto, and the Odyssey is my daily driver when i stay there, so i'm quite happy

One more thing I thought I would add.... All the parts that come from ACURA will arrive UNPAINTED, so I guess I am holding my breath that the local ONE STOP collision center will follow the standard RL paint process detailed below:
The RL's unique, labor-intensive paint process begins with an electro-deposition bath that draws an anti-corrosion coating deep into every crevice by means of an electrical current. Next comes a thick coat of primer, it then moves into the hands of 14 technicians, who wet-sand every square inch of the body by hand before applying one of nine handsome hues. Instead of the conventional single topcoat layer, base coat, then 2 top clear coats are carefully applied. The end product is a deep and exceptionally high-luster finish that is tough, durable and formulated to shine for years to come.
The front half of my RL will probably not match the back part after all is complete, i will detail with before and after pictures to see... This is all around a BAD WEEK!!!

The difference isn't as much as you think. I needed a new fender on mine, and when i looked at it, you had to be insanely up close to see the difference. If that's the case though, get it repainted all over, or i believe waxxing it, will bring the shine out and you won't notice the colour change....but it's not as big as they make it seem...
Well.... Just got the RL back from the accident... When I picked it up lets see what was wrong:
AC did not work... My rear left window would not go down from the driver controls, the hood would not fasten correctly, there was about a 1/4 inch gap between hood and side panel on one side and flush on the other, my front seat had dirt on it, and inside (NICE CLEANING JOB).... All my codes had to be reset BY ME after retrieving my car since they disconnected the battery, and failed to look for the codes in the glove box... I guess this is what I get for taking it to a ONE-STOP Collision center... JESUS! PISS POOR quality for a 8000 dollar job... Now I have a 2006 RL 3 months old with NO working AC and one of the windows does not work with STILL a funky looking front end for the weekend, oh freaking BOY! It goes back to the shop Monday to SEE if they can figure out how to fix my problems right the second time...
FYI to ACURA owners: BE VERY CAREFUL who you let work on your vehicles when involved in ANY type of body work, check for references, and be VERY detailed when picking up your vehicle....
Sad day in Ted's World....

My dealer is the only factory authorized dealership in the Chicago area. They worked on my TL when I had an accident last year, and the repainted the roof of my RL when a piece of concrete fell on it as I was driving by a construction crew jackhammering.
These guys were awesome. There is no way you can tell that either of the cars were repaired.
Was the shop backed by your insurance company? The reason why I ask is that with some insurance companies, if you go to one of their backed shops, they'll guarantee the work and your satisfaction.

Yes it is... The shop is my local State Farm preferred shop, which is why I chose the location. I have to admit they were very courteous and seemed to want to correct the problems I complained about, its just the fact the problems existed... I have a 500 deductible on my insurance I just know the job was a 8000 dollar job based on the bill. I am taking the car back Monday to complete the problems I have described, I was just surprised I had these issues at the time of pick up when they should have been reviewed/tested prior to picking up the vehichle... They considered the job complete when it was obvious there was MUCH LEFT to do.... That is all... I am just venting, when I get the car back AGAIN I will take pictures and post shots from before, accident, and after repair pictures....
